If you think your employer isn\u2019t paying your super contributions, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n

    Am I entitled to super?<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 you should confirm that you\u2019re entitled to super before taking any further steps.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Go to ATO online via myGov to view super contributions that have been paid into your super fund by your employer. If your employer has commenced Single Touch Payroll reporting, you can check if your super has been paid into your super fund. Your employer will tell us how much super they\u2019re required to pay to your fund.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Use the\u00a0Estimate my super tool<\/a>\u00a0if you\u2019re unsure how much super your employer should be paying.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Talk to your employer. Ask them how often they\u2019re currently paying your super, which fund they\u2019re paying to and how much they are paying.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Confirm how much your super fund has received by checking member statements from your super fund.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Lodge an enquiry. If you\u2019ve completed all of the steps above and still believe your employer isn\u2019t paying enough (or any) super \u2013 or isn\u2019t paying to your chosen fund, you can\u00a0report your employer<\/a>\u00a0using our online tool.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Our collection approach to unpaid super<\/h3>\n

    If your employer doesn\u2019t pay the minimum amount of super into the correct fund by the due date, they may have to pay the super guarantee charge (SGC).<\/p>\n

    The ATO may investigate an employer\u2019s super guarantee compliance on their own initiative or in response to an employee enquiry. If they determine that your employer (or former employer) has not complied with their SG obligations for you, or the ATO reasonably suspects this to be the case, they may disclose details of this to you.<\/p>\n

    From 1\u00a0April 2019, the law allows the ATO to disclose an employer\u2019s non-compliance to affected employees even if they haven\u2019t lodged an enquiry.<\/p>\n

    The ATO prioritise the collection of unpaid SGC debts. They work with employers who engage with them to address their debt. For those that don\u2019t engage, they\u2019ll take\u00a0stronger action<\/a>. This can include:<\/p>\n
